Sticky yellow goodness
PETG - my go to Utility material. over last 18 months I've went through multiple rolls of PETG from various suppliers - most of them in £20/roll price range and all of them in transparent yellow. So far eSUN proposal is my favourite. Lets start from important bits:
- Its DRY. One of most critical aspects of PETG is that it is moisture absorbing when left outside of hermetic bag or container. That why it is critical for manufacturers to vacuum bag DRY filament with desiccant bags. All rolls of filament from eSUN came properly packed and filament was dry, ready to print
- Colour Consistency. Nothing infuriates more than buying 2 rolls of same filament only to receive two distinctly different shades (I'm talking about you Surreal). eSUN so far provided consistent filament to level that their Transparent Yellow PLA has pretty much same colour
One factor which differentiates eSUN filaments from competition is their use of 2 part master-spools which can be used with refill filaments. There are quite few companies who sell master-spool refills but i haven't seen anybody who sells their filament on refillable spools - usually its paid extra or you need to print your eSUN master-spools work very nicely with filament samples
This material prints at 235C nozzle with 70C bed with very limited stringing and no warp. One thing is worth noting - bed levelling and first layer thickness + nozzle distance is critical.
